Alexey is Head of Early Process Development at Senda, bringing 16 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and a track record of advancing innovative products from concept to approval.

He was one of the founding employees of Kala Pharmaceuticals and helped to build the company and grow it from a seed-stage startup to a publicly traded, commercial-stage organization. At Kala, Alexey was responsible for Formulation & Process Development and, later, for Pharmaceutical R&D in general. He played a key role in translating an academic nanoparticle technology into a commercial drug delivery platform with two FDA-approved products. Prior to Kala, Alexey was at Johnson & Johnson, where he worked on controlled and immediate release oral dosage and drug-eluting devices.

Alexey is an inventor with over 60 patents granted world-wide and an author of peer-reviewed publications on drug delivery. He holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science & Engineering from the University of Massachusetts — Amherst.
